Using Digital Technology to Reproduce Human Anatomy
3D technology has vastly improved the ability to replicate human anatomy. We used traditional life casting techniques, coupled with 3d scanning and printing, to create copies of a human ear. We took a body safe mold material and applied it directly to the ear. After gently removing the mold we cast a plaster copy. That plaster copy was then scanned. After digitally creating a frame around the ear, we 3d printed both a left and a right version. This process can be used to create models for medical reference and props for cosplay.
